REQUIREMENTS

• You must use Windows XP or Vista
• You must use an email client (an email program such as Thunderbird or Outlook or any other), webmail is not Ok (or safe)
• Always test Flexcrypt with non-critical data

GUIDE

1. Download and install Flexcrypt from www.flexcrypt.com , choose between versions Free, Biz and Pro
2. Enter Your email address in the wizard or under “Settings”
3. Add the email address you wish to send and receive encrypted emails with by clicking “Add”, make up a password per recipient
4. Open your email client, write and send your email as usual
5. Flexcrypt will intercept and encrypt your email, a window will confirm this
6. The email will be delivered as an encrypted attachment to the receiver. In the email text-body, there will be instructions regarding how to download Flexcrypt and decrypt the message.
7. You must communicate the password to the receiver so that she may decrypt your message
8. Once the receiver has installed Flexcrypt, it will be possible for you two to send and receive encrypted emails that are encrypted and decrypted automatically, Flexcrypt will use the password that both of you have entered.
9. If you want to send encrypted Instant Messages (MSN or ICQ), enter your IM username under tab IM -> Settings
10. Add IM contacts under tab IM
11. Use IM client as usual

It does not work, what should I do?

Please go through the following simple checklist:

1. Use an email application or MSN Not Webmail
2. Download and Install the software, reboot
3. Check that you have Entered Your email address correctly under Flexcrypt settings (must be the same as in your email application)
4. Check that you have entered correct receiving address
5. Go to www.flexcrypt.com and check under support, here you will find guidelines for advanced settings if it still does not work

How do I download and install Flexcrypt?

1. Go to www.flexcrypt.com
2. Download the Flexcrypt software, it is the same file for Flexcrypt Free, -Biz and –Pro. Flexcrypt Free is true-free, no hidden charges. Purchase a license-code in order to upgrade to Biz and Pro versions.

How do I add/edit email addresses and passwords?

1. Open Flexcrypt by finding it in the Start-many or by right-clicking on the Flexcrypt icon in the sys-tray (gray padlock in lower right corner)
2. Click on “Add” to add a new email address or mark an address and click “Edit” to edit an email address or change a password

How do I send an encrypted email?

1. Make sure that you have Your email address correctly entered under email -> settings
2. Add the receivers email address in your list by clicking “Add”, make up a password
3. Open your regular email program, write and send the email as usual
4. Flexcrypt will encrypt the email, a window will confirm this
5. Always test Flexcrypt with non-critical data the first time!

How do I receive and decrypt encrypted emails?

1. You receive encrypted email by instructing the sender of the email to encrypt the email with Flexcrypt
2. You decrypt the email by Installing Flexcrypt
3. Add the senders of emails that you wish to be encrypted in your email list, Click “Add”
4. Agree with sender on a password that you both use

How do I decrypt an encrypted email in my inbox?

1. Download and install Flexcrypt
2. In the encrypted email in your inbox, there will be an encrypted attachment, double click on the attachment
3. Enter the password given to you by the sender
4. If you wish to automatically decrypt emails from this sender, add sender to your email list, keep Flexcrypt running when computer is turned on

How do I send and receive encrypted Instant Messages?

1. Sender and receiver must download and install Flexcrypt
2. Sender and receiver must enter their IM username under tab IM settings
3. Sender and receiver must add each other under tab IM and agree on a password
4. After this all communication will be encrypted

How do I edit auto-text in the encrypted emails I send?

1. Purchase Flexcrypt Pro
2. Click on settings
3. Edit text and click

Can I send encrypted attachments?

Yes, simply add your attachments in your email client as you normally do, Flexcrypt will encrypt them.

Please note that some Internet providers have limits regarding size on attachments.

Does Flexcrypt work with Mac?

No, but it is possible to decrypt emails on Flexcrypt Internet reader www.flexcrypt.com

Does Flexcrypt work with Unix?

No, but it is possible to decrypt emails on Flexcrypt Internet reader www.flexcrypt.com

Does Flexcrypt work with Exchange?

It is not (yet) possible to send encrypted emails with Exchange, but it is possible for exchange-users to encrypt/decrypt Instant Messages

Is it really Free?

Yes, Flexcrypt Free is true-free. NO HIDDEN CHARGES or annoying pop-ups

How do I purchase Flexcrypt Biz or Pro?

1. Go to www.flexcrypt.com, and download the Flexcrypt software (same file for all versions)
2. Go to www.flexcrypt.com and purchase a Biz or Pro license
3. Pay in the shop and receive your license-code
4. In Flexcrypt under tab License -> ‘Enter license’ you enter Biz or Pro license from shop
5. Restart Flexcrypt by right-clicking on Exit on the gray pad-lock in the lower right corner of your computer
6. Start Flexcrypt, it will now start un upgraded mode

How do I enter new license?

1. Click on the tab Licence
2. Select Enter new license
3. Enter new license

How do I give a Biz license?

1. Click on tab invite
2. Check box “Include a Flexcrypt Biz…” (only available in Biz and Pro versions)
3. Enter the email address to the person whom you wish to give the license to
4. Click “Send”

Will the receiver of a Biz license also have Biz-licenses to give away?

Yes, every new user of a Biz-version will have 5 licenses to give away
