REQUIREMENTS
- You must use 32bit versions of Windows XP, Vista or 7. Other platforms
may only use the Online services
- For automatic email-encryption, you must use an email client (an email
program such as Thunderbird or Outlook or any other), webmail is not
Ok (or safe)
- Always test Flexcrypt with non-critical data first!
GUIDE
- Download and install Flexcrypt from www.flexcrypt.com . After one month, the application will function in a severly restricted manner until a license is purchased in the shop (EUR 19).
- For email encryption, go to tab Email and open settings, enter Your
email address. Must be from the account you are sending emails From
- Add the email address you wish to send and receive encrypted emails
with by clicking “Add”, make up a password per recipient
- For each receiver, you must choose an encryption type. Choose Winzip
Pk if you are not sure, choose Winzip AES for active Flexcrypt users,
choose OpenPGP if you have receivers public key
- Open your email client, write and send your email as usual
- Flexcrypt will intercept and encrypt your email, a window will confirm
this
- The email will be delivered as an encrypted .ZIP attachment to the
receiver (or Open PGP).
- You must communicate the password to the receiver so that decryption
is possible, do this in a smart, non-electronic way
- Once the receiver has installed Flexcrypt, it will be possible for
you two to send and receive encrypted emails that are encrypted and
decrypted automatically.
- If you want to send encrypted Instant Messages (MSN or ICQ), enter
your IM username under tab IM -> Settings
- Add IM contacts under tab IM
- Use IM client as usual
- Right-click on any file in order to encrypt it, decryption does not
require any extra software
- Activate an encrypted hard drive by choosing Mount under tab Drive,
a new encrypted hard drive will appear. Everything placed on the drive
will be encrypted
- Good luck!

Yes. Previously, Flexcrypt offered a limited version free of charge (Flexcrypt Free). Current release (Flexcrypt 2010) only comes in One version with a 30-days trial period. After the trial, all functions are deactivated until a license is entered.

It is also possible to get a two month license free by recommending Flexcrypt to two friends, go to Flexcrypt Invite to learn more.

So it is still possible to use a Full version of Flexcrypt 2010 100% free of charge, but we ask for the Invite-favor or TrialPay in return.
Please go through the following checklist:
- Use an email application, Not Webmail
- Download and Install latest version of Flexcrypt, reboot
- Check that you have Entered YOUR email address correctly under Flexcrypt
Email settings (must be the same address as in the email application
used for sending)
- Check that you have entered correct receiving address
- Select "General settings" under the gray padlock in top left corner.
Connectivity should be Online, try selection: Firewall -> Zonealarm
- Download latest release by
clicking here
- It is the same software file for all three versions. Purchase a license-code
in order to upgrade to Biz or Pro.
- Choose, Run -> Install -> Reboot
- Open Flexcrypt by finding it in the Start-many or by right-clicking
on the Flexcrypt icon in the sys-tray (gray padlock in lower right corner)
- Select tab Email, click on “Add” to add a new email address or mark
an address and click “Edit” to edit an email address or change a password
- Choose encryption type depending on receivers decryption abilities,
choose Winzip PK for new users, choose Winzip AES (stronger encryption)
for active Flexcrypt users, or Open PGP if you have receivers public
key
- Make sure that you have Your email address correctly entered under
tab Email -> Email settings
- Add the receivers email address in your list by clicking “Add”, make
up a password
- Open your regular email program, write and send the email as usual
- Flexcrypt will encrypt the email, a window will confirm this
- Always test Flexcrypt with non-critical data the first time!
- You receive encrypted email by instructing the sender of the email
to encrypt the email with Flexcrypt
- You decrypt the email by Installing Flexcrypt
- Add the senders email address in "Email contacts to communicte encrypted
with" go to tab email
- Agree with sender on a password that you both will use
- Before Flexcrypt is installed, it is possibel to decrypt manually
by simply clicking on the encrypted attachement and enter the correct
password
- Download and install Flexcrypt
- In the encrypted email in your inbox, there will be an encrypted attachment,
double click on the attachment
- Enter the password given to you by the sender
- If you wish to automatically decrypt emails from this sender, add
sender to your email list, keep Flexcrypt running when computer is turned
on
- Sender and receiver must download and install Flexcrypt
- Sender and receiver must enter their IM username under tab IM settings
- Sender and receiver must add each other under tab IM and agree on
a password
- After this all communication will be encrypted
- Purchase Flexcrypt Pro
- Go to tab Email, choose Email settings
- Click on Edit
- Edit text and click Ok
First you must add/create Your OpenPGP keys, one private and one public
- Go to email tab, open email settings
- Select PGP tab
- Select Wizard
- Choose Create or Import key
- Follow instructions, enter name and password etc
- Your public key will show, share this key to the persons you want
to Receive OpenPGP encrypted emails from
Now you are ready to receive encrypted OpenPGP emails
In order to send OpenPGP emails, simply:
- Add receiver as usual in list by clicking Add
- As encryption type, choose OpenPGP
- Select Assign public key
- Paste or import receivers public PGP key (ask receiver to provide
key)

PGP keys version > 2.x
When using IMAP, it is important that the complete email is downloaded
directly.
In Outlook, please use below settings:
Yes, emails encrypted by Flexcrypt also encrypts attachements (regardless
of encryption type).
Please note that some Internet providers have limits regarding size on
attachments.
PKZIP: Older version of the ZIP-encryption standard. Almost All Windows-computers
can decrypt without extra software.
AESZIP: Newer version of the ZIP-encryption standard. Strong encryption.
Requiers an updated Zip-component (v.12) or Flexcrypt in order to decrypt.
Use this format for encrypted emails to Flexcrypt users
OpenPGP: Open standard for encrypting emails. Builds on an PKI (public
key infrastructure) not passwords. User shares a public key that is used
in order to send emails to user. A private key is used for decryption.
Flexcrypt supports Open PGP/MIME and can create or import keys.
No, the Flexcrypt desktop software only runs on Windows XP and Vista.
But Mac users that have an updated Zip-component will be able to decrypt
Zip-encrypted emails
Of course Mac-users may user Flexcrypts Online services for text and
file encryption

Yes. Flexcrypt works with MS exchange, but user must runt it from an
Outlook client.
- Go to www.flexcrypt.com,
and download the Flexcrypt software
- Go to www.flexcrypt.com

- In Flexcrypt under tab License, enter your license from the shop
- Restart Flexcrypt by right-clicking on Exit on the gray pad-lock in
the lower right corner of your computer
- Start Flexcrypt
- Click on the tab Licence
- Select Enter new license
- Enter new license
- Click on tab Invite in Flexcrypt
- Click on link that will take you to the on-line Invite form
- Enter the email address of two persons
- These persons will receive an invitation with a confirmation link,
once they have confirmed that the invitation has arrived, you will receive
a two motn license for free.
(It is Not necessary for invited persons to download Flexcrypt, they
only have to confirm invitation in order for license gift to be sent)

In order to encrypt a file or a folder, simply:
1. Right-click on the file/folder and choose “Encrypt with Flexcrypt”
2. Choose a name and password for the encrypted file
3. Now you can store or send the encrypted file.
4. Decrypt the file by double-clicking on it and enter the correct password.
You do not need to have Flexcrypt installed in order to decrypt.
If you can not see file-endings, in explorer go to:
Tools -> Folder options, select View tab. Uncheck: Hide extensions for
known file types
Right-click on the file/folder and choose “Secure delete with Flexcrypt"
Flexcrypt Drive is a virtual encrypted hard-drive. All information put
on the Drive will be encryped.
1. Go to Flexcrypt Drive Tab
2. Click on Mount and make up a password
3. Your Flexcrypt Drive will appear as a new hard-drive and be accessable
from any application
Flexcrypt USB is a separate product from "regular" Flexcrypt 2010. Get
started by following below instructions:

3. Click on the file
4. Complete registration and make up a password -> Done!
